Sex And The City Soundtrack

We received an advance copy of the SEX AND THE CITY soundtrack in this week. It's pretty much what you would expect, and is much like the GREY'S ANATOMY albums as far as being listenable. It's got a bunch of songs on it that sound pretty decent to a solo listener, and a couple that may have a chance of being hits. Much like the GREY'S albums, these songs will sound much more powerful within the context of the movie. Along with the FERGIE song they are releasing as a single, the cut that most stands out on the album is also the shortest: cut 14, the 50 second movie theme. It's a kicked up bond-like version of the classic HBO show open.

Bottom line...should you buy it? If you are a BIG TIME SATC fan or in need of a good background CD for a cocktail party, Yes. Other than that, wait and see the movie. If more than a couple of songs really grab you along the way, then get it.
